Cannabidiol, aka CBD, is a non-psychoactive component of the marijuana plant, and therefore does not make you high.
Within the human body there is the endocannabinoid system (click to see more information) that has receptors that spread throughout the brain and body — CBD actually binds to those receptors. Receptors are heavily concentrated in the central nervous system, but others are found in almost every organ of the body, including the skin, digestive tract, and reproductive organs.
CBD is like a key into the cannabinoid receptor lock.
The four primary purposes of the endocannabinoid system are neuroprotection, stress recovery, immune balance, and homeostatic regulation. CBD taps into this system because it has a similar composition to the chemicals produced naturally in our body.
Hemp CDB contains less than 0.3% THC.
THC – tetrahydrocannabinol – is the psychoactive element of marijuana that causes users to feel high. Because we use Industrial Hemp, our customers will never have to worry about feeling high after using our products.
In fact, because we use Industrial Hemp, our product doesn’t need to be carried in special shops — any store can request to become a wholesaler of Red Barn Hemp and carry our product on their shelves.
Industrial Hemp has been federally legal since the Agricultural Act of 2014, also known as The Farm Bill (click to see more information). This legislation was passed by Congress, and signed in to law by President Obama in 2014.
There can be a lot of confusion over the legality of marijuana versus Industrial Hemp, which is why the long and short answer is this: Industrial Hemp (and the oil that comes from the crop) is legal, both state-wide and federally, throughout the country. Therefore, you can purchase our products online, and they can be sold in any store across the nation.
When you purchase products from Red Barn Hemp, you know that you are purchasing lotion made with oil pressed on our property, and made with the hemp grown in the fields of our farm. We’ve spent hundreds of hours perfecting the way we grow Industrial Hemp, and have approached the crops from an agriculture standpoint. As a result, we can offer the whole plant full spectrum.
In a nutshell: we believe that using every single phytocannabinoids within the hemp plant, rather than stripping out the strain, we are giving our customers an overall better product that is focused on whole-health.
